Description
This topical solution combines dutasteride 0.025% with minoxidil 5% to address both the hormonal and growth-stimulation pathways involved in androgenetic alopecia. Dutasteride provides dual type I and type II 5-alpha-reductase inhibition locally, while minoxidil supports follicular activity through vasodilation. Thanks to its Trichosol base, the solution is devoid of ethanol and propylene glycol, and is thus skin friendly.
Standard use of minoxidil-based solutions involves twice-daily scalp application of 1mL. At this frequency, total daily dutasteride exposure is approximately 0.5mg, approaching the threshold between localized scalp activity and broader systemic influence. A 50mL bottle corresponds to approximately 25 days of standard use.
Composition (50mL): Trichosol q.s. ad 50mL; Ethoxy Diglycol (Transcutol P) 5mL; Distilled Water 5mL; Minoxidil 2.5g (50mg/mL); Dutasteride 12.5mg (0.25mg/mL); Sodium Benzoate 50mg.
